The presentation at Cartoon Forum of kids comedy show My Knight and Me (formerly Oh Brave Knight and I!) attracted a record number of over 300 people. Never in the 22-year history of Cartoon Forum has a pitch attracted so many investors, broadcasters and distributors.
For My Knight and Me, Flemish producer Thuristar is working together with French producer TeamTO, who also worked together on the animated series Plankton Invasion. The series is developed with Canal+ Family in France. The producers will attend MIPCOM in Cannes next month to follow up on the interest generated at Cartoon Forum with broadcasters and international distributors. My Knight and Me is a spin-off of a short film by Joeri entitled 850 meters, currently in production, and produced by Thuristar in coproduction with Lunanime.
Cartoon Forum 2012 recently unveiled its selection of 66 animation projects that will be presented this fall in Toulouse. No fewer than six Flemish and one Belgian project are pitching at the European co-production Forum for Animated TV-series (11-14 September).
Ultra Pictura, an animation production house specialising in using painterly visuals, has teamed up with UK’s Total Immersion Ltd for Winnie the Witch and Wilbur (pictured). The series is based on the best-selling picture books of the same name, written by Valerie Thomas and illustrated by Korky Paul. Flemish producer Thuristar, which worked on Vivi Film’s animated series Plankton Invasion, is presenting My Knight and Me together with French producer TeamTO. The series is a spin-off of a short film by Joeri Christaen entitled 850 Meters, currently in production with Thuristar and Lunanime. The animated series will span 52 episodes of 13 minutes.
