As of Saturday 14th October 2000, all Flemish girls who comply with certain criteria, can enrol for the Miss Belgian Beauty contest 2002. The Television Factory tracks these girls in docu-soap style on the peak moments of the contest: the general casting, the selection of the final candidates, the official presentation of the selection to the press, photo shoots for the brochure, personal promotion campaigns, their contacts with godfathers and godmothers, the coast tour, their trip to some sunny destination. After this trip, the final decision is made and the jury decides which 12 girls are laureates for the ‘grand finale’. On September 22, the golden 12 are presented to the press during a gala dinner. 8 girls will drop out. The 12 remaining girls prepare for the final night. They all stay at the same hotel. It is a week of solid work for the show which is the final. The Television Factory sees it all and registers all emotions which the girls and their surrounding endure in the battle to be the fairest of the country.
