The best-known book about Flanders is a cultural phenomenon in Japan yet unknown at home and has been the subject of several film adaptations in Japan and in the US. This documentary uses the novel as a point of departure to raise questions about the differences in the perception of Flanders by the Brits, the Japanese, the Americans and the Flemish.
Le livre sur la Flandre le plus célèbre est un phénomène culturel au Japon, bien qu’il soit peu connu en Flandre. Il a fait l’objet de nombreuses adaptations cinématographiques au Japon et aux Etats-Unis. Ce documentaire se sert de ce roman comme point de départ d’une réflexion sur les différences de perception de la Flandre par les Britanniques, les Japonais, les Américains et les Flamands.
