synopsis

In My Father's House tells the story of a Belgian-Moroccan family, seen through the eyes of the oldest daughter, filmmaker Rachida El Garani. Caught between Moroccan and Western culture, she sets out to find answers to the trauma of her past, before it is too late. Time is short because her domineering, 78-year-old father was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
In My Father's House raconte l'histoire d'une famille belgo-marocaine vue à travers la caméra de la fille aînée. A l'étroit entre la culture marocaine et occidentale, la cinéaste Rachida El Garani tente de trouver des réponses aux traumatismes de son passé. Avant qu'il ne soit trop tard. Parce que son père dominant de 78 ans a récemment reçu un diagnostic d'Alzheimer.
In My Father's House vertelt het verhaal van een Belgisch-Marokkaanse familie gezien door de camera van de oudste dochter. Strak tussen Marokkaanse en westerse cultuur probeert filmmaker Rachida El Garani antwoorden te vinden op de trauma's uit haar verleden. Voordat het te laat is, omdat onlangs bij haar 78-jarige dominante vader de diagnose Alzheimer werd gesteld.
