Multi-territory deals announced for The Prime Minister

The Works International has secured a raft of distribution deals for Erik Van Looy’s action-thriller, The Prime Minister.

The Prime MinisterVan Looy’s feature film has been snapped up across a multitude of territories including Trade Media for France; DDDream for China; Aya Pro for Japan; Discovery for Former Yugoslavia and Viswas Films for India. A further raft of territories are also in late stage negotiations including Turkey, Middle East and Italy, with deals soon to be announced.

250,000 admissions for Van Looy’s Prime Minister

Erik Van Looy’s new feature The Prime Minister has passed the 250,000-admissions mark in its home territory. The thriller about a Belgian PM who is forced to kill the President of the United States has topped the Belgian film charts for three consecutive weeks since its release.

Another audience favourite, the film has already passed a quarter of a million admissions just three weeks after its domestic release on October 26.

Prime Minister reigns local box office

Erik Van Looy's new action thriller The Prime Minister registered close to 130,000 admissions in its first week, making it the number-one film at the local box office. This week the film also gets its market premiere at this year's American Film Market (AFM) where The Works International is handling worldwide sales.

The Works International secures key sales on Erik Van Looy’s thriller The Prime Minister

The Works International today announced the sale of tense action thriller The Prime Minister to Flins y Piniculas for Spain. The film has also been sold to Square One for Germany, Kinepolis Film Distribution (KFD) for Belgium and Dutch FilmWorks for the Netherlands.

First cast names announced for new feature by Loft-director Van Looy

On March 21, shooting starts on The Prime Minister (working title), a new feature by Erik Van Looy, director of Loft. Koen De Bouw takes the main role as the Belgian Prime Minister who is forced against his will to carry out a possibly world-threatening assignment.

Koen De BouwErik Van Looy wrote the film with Carl Joos, having previously collaborated on the script of The Alzheimer Case (The Memory of a Killer). Koen De Bouw will play the Belgian Prime Minister who is kidnapped and released on one condition: he has to kill the person he is supposed to meet later that day. But that person happens to be the President of the United States.
