A two-part documentary about cyclo-cross legend Sven Nys' emotional final year as a rider. For 18 years, Nys lived like a professional, an ascetic control freak who survived solely on cycling, food and rest. In this documentary, director Jan Vandermotte focuses on his discipline and lifestyle for the very first time. The result is a unique insight into the head and life of a sports phenomenon.
Op woensdag 24 februari rijdt Sven Nys zijn allerlaatste cross, op de Soudal Cyclocross Masters in Waregem. Na een carrière van 18 (!) jaar met 291 overwinningen, Belgische titels en wereldtitels. Een absoluut record. 18 jaar lang heeft Sven Nys geleefd als een überprof, een controlefreak die niets aan het toeval overlaat, een asceet die leeft van eten, rusten en fietsen. In deze docufilm krijgen we dat leven voor het eerst te zien. Puur en onverbloemd. Een jaar lang volgde regisseur Jan Vandermotte de perfectionist Nys overal op zijn routine. Het resultaat is een unieke inkijk in het hoofd en het leven van een sportief fenomeen.
