synopsis

A filmmaker embarks on a search for his real family name as the one passed down from father to son is not right: somewhere in the family history, a father has given his name to a child that wasn't his. The younger generation don't know all the details and the elders keep their mouths shut. The first person he wants to talk to is his father, with whom he has always had difficulties. The somewhat stubborn pater familias isn't too pleased with his son's endeavour but, in front of the camera, they talk openly about family secrets and feuds.
Un réalisateur part à la recherche de son véritable nom de famille. Le nom de famille qui a été transmis du père au fils n’est pas le bon. A un moment de l’histoire de sa famille, un père a donné son nom à un enfant qui n’était pas le sien. La jeune génération ne connaît pas les détails et les plus âgés se taisent à ce sujet. La première personne à qui il veut parler est son propre père, avec qui il a toujours eu des difficultés pour communiquer. Son paternel quelque peu borné n’est pas enchanté par les efforts de son fils, mais devant la caméra, ils parlent plus que jamais. Pendant ce temps, Poissonnier découvre de nombreux secrets et querelles de famille. Walking back to happiness est une histoire à la fois intime et universelle, avec une approche personnelle et contemporaine.
