Van Nuffel’s Oxygen starts shooting
Principal photography has begun on Hans Van Nuffel’s feature film debut, Oxygen (Adem). Written by Van Nuffel and Jean-Claude Van Rijckeghem (Moscow, Belgium, The Over the Hill Band), the drama relates the life and loves of two cystic fibrosis patients during their hospital stays.
Sharing the major roles in Oxygen are Stef Aerts, Anemone Valcke (Moscow, Belgium), Wouter Hendrickx (The Misfortunates), Marie Vinck (Loft), Rik Verheye and Maarten Mertens. Van Nuffel is best known for directing such award-winning shorts as The End of the Journey, Fal and Nighthawks. Oxygen is produced by Jean-Claude Van Rijckeghem and Dries Phlypo for A Private View (Moscow, Belgium, The Over the Hill Band, A Perfect Match, Long Weekend). Director of photography is Ruben Impens. Shooting takes place on location in, among others, Ostend, Louvain and Ghent. ETA is 2010/11.
