The Works takes Dossier K international rights
The Works International has acquired international rights to Jan Verheyen’s Dossier K. (The K-file). The film is the long-awaited follow-up to the successful Memory of a Killer, which travelled worldwide and which was also handled by The Works. The UK-based sales company will be launching Dossier K. at the Berlinale as a market premiere.
Dossier K. was released in its home terrority of Belgium on 9 December 2009 and to date has raked in an outstanding $3 million from 316,295 admissions. Directed by Jan Verheyen (Alias), the film stars Koen De Bouw (Loft, Memory of a Killer), Werner De Smedt (Memory of a Killer) and Blerim Destani (Get Low) and is produced by Peter Bouckaert and Erwin Provoost for Eyeworks Film & TV Drama. The film is the long-awaited successor to the award-winning Memory of a Killer. This intense, stylish thriller is based on a novel by Jef Geeraerts. A pair of detectives investigate a murder trail which leads to the ruthless Albanian underworld. Producer Peter Bouckaert comments: “When Carl Clifton and Joy Wong called us after seeing The K-file, stating that they were very enthusiastic about the quality, the production value and the international potential of our film, we were overjoyed. We had a very fruitful collaboration with The Works on Memory of a Killer and we are confident that they are the right partners to bring The K-file to the international market.” Carl Clifton, MD of The Works International, adds: “We are thrilled to be back on board with the team behind Memory of a Killer and also the hugely talented Jan Verheyen and feel sure that The K-file will replicate the success of that film internationally.” Established in 1986, The Works International is one of Europe's leading sales agents.
