Felix van Groeningen, director of the Oscar-nommed The Broken Circle Breakdown, has signed with leading American talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
With van Groeningen currently touring the US as part of the promotional campaign leading up to the Oscars, Creative Artists Agency has announced that the Belgian helmer has signed with the American talent agency. Eryn Brown of Management 360 stays on as van Groeningen’s manager, while Alan Wertheimer of Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klain was taken on board as his lawyer.

The Broken Circle Breakdown, which got a slew of festival awards including Best Actress at the European Film Awards and Tribeca Film Festival, is one of five nominees competing for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Based on a hit play, the film depicts tattoo artist Elise, who connects with bluegrass musician Didier over their shared enthusiasm for American music and culture. They dive headfirst into a sweeping romance, but when an unexpected tragedy hits their new family, everything they know and love is tested.
