Girl, Lukas Dhont’s debut feature currently in post-production, has won the Titrafilm Work In Progress Award at this year’s Les Arcs European Film Festival. The Award comes with an EUR 10,000 post-production grant. In October, Dhont won the Grid VFX Works In Progress Award at this year’s edition of CONNeXT.

GirlGirl is the story of a 15-year-old girl born in a boy's body who is ready to risk everything to pursue her dream of becoming a ballerina. In Les Arcs, Dhont presented some excerpts from his film which is currently being edited.

Dhont previously directed the short films Headlong (2012) and L'Infini (2014). Girl is produced by Dirk Impens for Menuet, in co-production with Frakas Productions and the Dutch Topkapi Films. It will be Menuet’s final film production, before Impens’ production company shuts up shop.
