German international sales agent Media Luna New Films is to represent Fien Troch’s third feature, Kid. Director Troch impressed with her feature debut Someone Else’s Happiness in 2005 but it was her second feature, Unspoken, which truly established her international reputation with selections in Toronto and San Sebastián and Best Leading Actress honours in Torino.
In Kid, a little boy of seven lives with his mother and his slightly older brother Billy on a farm outside a small town. Ever since their father abandoned them a few years earlier, they have had to fend for themselves. Then disaster strikes. The two little boys have to move in with their uncle and aunt. Kid misses his mother more than ever and wants to be with her again.
Troch wrote the screenplay, while experienced hand Nico Leunen (The Invader, The Misfortunates) was in charge of editing. Kid is a production of Antonino Lombardo for Prime Time.
Media Luna New Films represents directors and producers with an unique signature style. They focus on international art house productions by rising talent. The sales agent already holds another Flemish title in their catalogue: Pieter Van Hees’ 2009 feature, Dirty Mind.
