Kristof Hoornaert’s debut feature, starring Johan Leysen and Gilles De Schryver, has been acquired by the Italian sales company TVCO. Resurrection had its world premiere at Film Fest Gent in October and its international premiere in the First Features Competition at the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn on 27 November.

ResurrectionResurrection tells the story of an elderly recluse who takes a young man into his house after finding him half-naked and lost. Even though the young man refuses to speak, a connection grows between the pair.

The leading parts in Resurrection are played by Leysen and De Schryver, with supporting roles for Kris Cuppens and Thomas Ryckewaert. The film was shot by Lithuanian cinematographer Rimvydas Leipus, who also worked on Khadak by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth and N – The Madness of Reason by Peter Krüger. The film was shot on locations in Brussels, France and the Netherlands.

Resurrection was produced by Geoffrey Enthoven and Mariano Vanhoof for the production company Fobic Films, known for movies such as My First Highway, Brother, Halfway and Come As You Are.
