A filmic essay about urban nomad Boris Lehman making a journey to the important places in his life, incorporating diary fragments and autobiographical fiction. The film is a reflection on the passing of time and the reality of day-to-day existence.
Mes sept lieux est vraiment un curieux objet : notes de chevet, fragments de journal intime, bouts de fiction autobiographique, tout cela sans doute, mais encore autre chose, un essai sur le temps qui passe en cours d’inachèvement, un fatras de réflexions légères et graves, une tentative tout simplement pour exister. Mes sept lieux commencent au moment où je suis expulsé de plusieurs lieux qui me sont chers et me servent tout aussi bien de domicile que de lieu de vie et de travail. C’est le début de mon errance urbaine, qui me fera faire en dix années un périple de près de trois cent mille kilomètres avant de revenir à peu près à mon point de départ. Une aventure tant physique que métaphysique.
Een tocht langs alle plaatsen uit het leven van Boris Lehman: een filmessai over een stedelijk nomadenleven… een mozaïek van 'korte filmpjes' die een na een ingelast en samengevoegd worden tot zoiets als een enorm fresco of wandtapijt.
