synopsis

One day, a little king was walking in the forest of his little kingdom and spied an extraordinary creature, a unicorn white as snow and fast as the wind. The little king orders the knight Littlefoot to bring him the creature, but he fails. The little queen, however, manages to bring the unicorn to the castle. The mythical beast, although well cared for, falls sick. What could make her better? Based on the book La Licorne by Martine Bourre.
Un jour, un petit roi aperçoit dans la forêt de son petit royaume, un être extraordinaire, blanc comme la neige et rapide comme le vent. Le petit roi ordonne au chevalier Petitpas de lui ramener la créature, sans succès ! La petite reine réussit à faire venir la licorne au château. Een kleine koning wandelt door het bos van zijn kleine koninkrijk. Opeens ziet hij een merkwaardig dier dat wit is als sneeuw, snel als de wind en dat een hoorn op zijn snuit draagt. Jammer genoeg is het dier even snel verdwenen als het opdook. De koning gaat er naar op zoek, maar tevergeefs. Zijn echtgenote de koningin slaagt er met geduld en tederheid wel in om het vertrouwen van het mythische dier te winnen en neemt het mee naar hun kasteel. De koning is dolgelukkig. De koningin verzorgt hun nieuwe gast heel goed maar vreemd genoeg brengt de eenhoorn zijn dagen en nachten door aan het venster... Hij treurt en heeft heimwee naar het bos. De duffe kasteellucht maakt hem ziek en de eenhoorn kwijnt helemaal weg. De koning en de koningin besluiten dat, als ze het object van hun affectie willen redden, ze het vrij moeten laten en er afscheid moeten van nemen. En zo gebeurt het.
