Geoffrey Enthoven and Mariano Vanhoof's production hub Fobic Films has closed a deal with Berlin-based Films Boutique. The international sales agent is to represent Enthoven’s two upcoming features Half Way and Winnipeg, both scripted by Pierre De Clercq. Films Boutique also added Geoffrey Enthoven’s back catalogue produced for Fobic Films to its slate – Children of Love,The Only One and Happy Together.

Geoffrey EnthovenFilms Boutique previously handled international sales for Come As You Are, which has been sold to over 42 countries so far. Enthoven’s feature film about three disabled youngsters who, under the guise of a wine tour, embark on a journey to Spain hoping to get laid there, was awarded EFA’s People’s Choice Award last year.

The new deal with Films Boutique means that both parties will join forces for the next two feature films that Enthoven has planned, Half Way (working title) and Winnipeg, both of which are being made possible with the support of the VAF/Film Fund of Flemish Cultural Affairs Minister Joke Schauvliege.

Production on Half Way starts at the beginning of June. The film presents the story of Stef, a man going through a divorce who manages to buy a magnificent house for far less than its market value. He hopes to settle his affairs in peace there but during his first night in his new home suddenly finds a man standing in his living room, claiming to be the rightful owner of the house. The strange guest tries to bully Stef out of his home, but the latter won’t budge. Then Stef finds out that the man is indeed the owner of the house, who had passed away two years earlier. Koen De Graeve (Time of My Life, The Misfortunates) and Jurgen Delnaet (Code 37, Double Life) portray the film’s central protagonists.

Winnipeg, a co-production with Canada, is a dark comedy about a Belgian hotel owner traveling to Canada to break the heart of a rich Canadian woman whom he dated 20 years ago.

Due to the success of Come As You Are, Enthoven’s earlier work is in the spotlight once again so Films Boutique decided to add the work that Enthoven produced with Fobic Films to its portfolio, including Children of Love, The Only One, and Happy Together.

Films Boutique only selects a handful of new films each year. Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth’s The Fifth Season is also represented by the company.
