Eleven new documentary projects are to receive funding from the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF). The projects are in different stages of production. Three of them received support via the Fund's Filmlab scheme.

Projects receiving development support are the medium-length Giants in the Earth by director Sam Plompen (production company: Freshwater), and the feature-length projects My Ras Tafari Roots by David Varhaeghe (script: Karel Michiels, production company: OffWorld) and The King of Spain (Mi Amigo) by Mieke Struyve (production company: OffWorld).

€7,500 scriptwriting support went to both the medium-length project Beneath the Surface (writer: Alexander Debreczeni) and the feature-length Carnotstraat 17 (Klara Van Es). €25,000 post-production support went to Goudou Goudou by Pieter Van Eecke and Fabrizio Scapin.

A number of projects also received support through the Fund's Filmlab scheme for more experimental and cross-media works. 

Production support went to the short Vertaalcabine (Scattering of the Fragile Cherry Blossoms – Part II) by An Van Dienderen (production company: Elektrischer Schnellseher), to the medium-length One Year from director/producer Steffie Van Cauter, as well as to the animated From the Snow-Covered Hill by Matty Jorissen (production company: Walking The Dog) from a script by Wijnand Driessen.

Development support also went to the medium-length JB in Flanders by Jean-Baptiste Dumont (Where is Gary) (production company: Potemkino).
