After a drug deal goes wrong, John Carrol finds himself on the run from two murderous gangsters and ends up taking sanctuary in 'The Hab', a retro-futuristic rehab centre for addicts on the Basque coast.

synopsis

John Carrol is tired of his lethargic life in Miami. Disillusioned and deep in debt, he is offered what appears to be an easy drug run to Spain. But the deal goes horribly wrong at Bilbao Airport and he finds himself on the run from two murderous gangsters. After a case of mistaken identity, he ends up taking somebody else's place in 'The Hab', a retro-futuristic rehab centre for addicts on the Basque coast. There, he is relatively safe from the gangsters but has to confront himself and his own hard-living ways. When he finds out that the world-famous tennis player, Tiffany Gait, is one of his fellow alcoholics, he realises there is money to be made. But he is not the only one with high hopes, secret agendas and old demons to fight...
John Carrol is zijn afstompende leven in Miami beu. Gedesillusioneerd en diep in de schulden krijgt hij een aanbod om een op het eerste gezicht eenvoudige drugssmokkel naar Spanje te doen. Maar de deal loopt vreselijk mis op de luchthaven van Bilbao en John moet op de vlucht voor twee moorddadige gangsters. Na een identiteitsverwisseling neemt hij de plaats in van iemand anders in 'The Hab', een retro-futuristisch ontwenningscentrum voor verslaafden aan de Baskische kust. Daar is hij relatief veilig voor de gangsters, maar moet hij zichzelf en zijn harde manier van leven onder ogen komen. Wanneer hij erachter komt dat de wereldberoemde tennisspeelster Tiffany Gait een van zijn medepatiënten is, beseft hij dat er geld te verdienen valt. Maar hij is niet de enige die moet opboksen tegen hoge verwachtingen, geheime agenda's en oude demonen...
