synopsis

Are You There (Jestes Tam) is an experimental audiovisual triptych filmed in Nowy Port, Gdansk, in Poland. The triptych brings together two different forms of communication: the former medium of written letters versus contemporary Skype communication. Centred around the intimate scenes between family members who live nations apart for reasons of economic migration, Are You There asks the spectator questions of how different communications media generate different forms of both content as well as (the image we have of) the other.
