synopsis

How Camels Become Lions depicts the urge for freedom. Through four episodes, we see four family members at the moment in which they become tired of being a camel, a beast of burden. They realise their tasks are meaningless and find themselves in a spiritual desert: the camel wants to become a lion. Vincent, Renée, Alice and Robin search for the strength to undergo this transformation.
Hoe kamelen leeuwen worden verbeeldt de drang naar vrijheid. In vier episodes toont de film vier familieleden die het moe zijn om een kameel te zijn. De kameel, als lastdier, draagt gewillig de last van zijn taak. Maar zal uiteindelijk, wanneer hij beseft dat zijn bezigheid betekenisloos is, ontdekken dat hij zich in een spirituele woestijn bevindt. De kameel wil een leeuw worden, de geest die vecht tegen valse waarden om zo zijn eigen plaats te vinden, zijn eigen vrijheid. Vincent, Renée, Alice en Robin zijn opzoek naar de kracht om deze transformatie te ondergaan.
