EN - How do people with a disability look at themselves, at each other and at us? And how do we look at them? In a poetic black and white film, we peek inside the minds of Nadine, Sofie, Sam, Quan, Mathias and Jessica, who all live in a care centre for people with reduced mental possibilities. While they unravel their emotions over the course of one year’s time, they teach us about the world and especially about ourselves.
NL - Hoe kijken mensen met een beperking naar zichzelf, naar elkaar en naar ons? En hoe kijken wij naar hen? Nadine, Sofie, Sam, Quan, Mathias en Jessica laten ons in hun gedachten en emoties kijken. Ze wonen samen in een zorgcentrum voor mensen met een mentale beperking. Terwijl ze hun gevoelens ontrafelen, leren ze ons over de wereld en, vooral, over onszelf. Zie mij doen is een ingetogen diepmenselijk portret in prachtig zwart-wit.
FR - Comment est-ce que les personnes handicapées se regardent eux-mêmes ? Comment se regardent-t-ils entre eux et regardent-ils nous, les « autres » ? Pendant qu'ils démêlent leurs émotions, ils nous apprennent le monde, mais surtout : sur nous-mêmes.
