The documentary I'm New Here explores the roots of a new economic reality: the trade between China and Africa.

synopsis

Guangzhou, China. A building erected in the communist style of the eighties: Tian Xiu. For many years this is the Eldorado for African migrants who try their luck in this city. I'm New Here sketches a unique look behind the scenes of a new economic relationship between the African continent and the new superpower through some of the people that populate Tian Xiu.
Guangzhou, China. Een gebouw opgetrokken in communistische stijl uit de jaren 80: Tian Xiu. Sinds tientallen jaren is dit het Eldorado voor Afrikaanse migranten die massaal hun geluk komen beproeven in deze stad. I’m New Here schetst een unieke blik achter de schermen van een nieuwe economische relatie tussen het Afrikaanse continent en de grootmacht China aan de hand van enkele personen die Tian Xiu bevolken.
