Three Moroccan sisters who migrated to Belgium in the 1970s find themselves caught between two cultures.

The documentary My Aunts From Ghent tells the story of Jemâa, Saâdia and Fatima, three adventurous Moroccan sisters who migrated to Belgium in the 1970s to work as nannies for Flemish families. When the sisters travel back to the village where they were born, it becomes clear that they don't feel at home anymore. In Belgium they will always be immigrants; in Morocco they've become too westernised.
De documentaire Mijn tantes uit Gent vertelt het verhaal van Jemâa, Saâdia en Fatima, drie vrijgevochten Marokkaanse zussen. Zij migreerden in de jaren 70 naar België om als kindermeisje aan de slag te gaan bij Vlaamse families. Wanneer de zussen terugkeren naar hun geboortedorp wordt duidelijk dat ze zich daar niet meer helemaal thuis voelen. In België blijven ze migranten en voor Marokko zijn ze intussen te Westers. Mijn tantes uit Gent is een familiekroniek die de uiteenlopende levenswandel van de zussen op een ontroerende maar rake manier schetst.
