EN - In a desperate attempt to leave her past behind, Nina wanders the motorways of Europe. She meets Matthias, a German truck driver, and joins him on his journeys. Nina doesn’t reveal much about who she is, though. Gradually it becomes clear that Nina’s drive to hang around in the truckers’ scene is a result of the pain caused by the ultimate betrayal that has befallen her.

Three from Flanders in competition in Gijón

BlackThe Ardennes and Cafard will be in official competition at the Gijón International Film Festival in Spain (20-28 November). The short film section additionally includes Copain by Jan and Raf Roosens, while Zurich and Phantom Boy, two co-productions with Flanders, have also been selected.

BlackBlack, the second feature by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah after their debut Image, competes in the festival’s official competition. It is a modern Brussels-based gang story about 15-year-old Mavela who falls in love with Marwan, a boy from a rival youth gang. The Caviar-produced film has won the Discovery Award in Toronto and the Audience Award at the Film Fest Ghent.
