A virtual reality experience created with stop-motion animation, which questions the complexity of doubt and self-determination in today’s world.

synopsis

Is life worth passing on? I was conceived in Iran, with the war still present in the minds of the people. Growing up in a strong patriarchal system makes the decision to have a child even more difficult. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking. My body feels like a train that cannot wait, continuously moving forward. 275 Million Births and Deaths is a virtual reality experience created with stop-motion. In the conversations with my mother my personal doubts about the lifechanging decision of motherhood are challenged with notions of personal happiness, responsibility and love. By sharing my personal emotional process, I invite the audience to feel and listen to themselves, free from any socio-political destiny.
