The story of Queer Tango dancers fighting for tolerance and acceptance of LGBTQ people in Russia.

This film documents Russian gay couple Misha and Otar organising the events of the Queer Tango in St. Petersburg. They are giving tango classes and introducing an alternative way of dancing to the traditional tango community. Now the best Queer Tango dancers from around the world are travelling to Russia for the Festival. When it is over, Misha and Otar must make a decision about their migration to Israel. Recent high levels of homophobia in Russia forces many gays and lesbians to leave their families to find a refuge abroad. But when narrow-minded traditionalism and xenophobia are rife in the world, it is important to continue to dance the tango no matter what gender, sexual orientation or country you are from.
De film documenteert het Russische homokoppel Misha en Otar, de organisatoren van de Queer Tango-events in Sint-Petersburg. Ze geven tangolessen en brengen andere manieren van dansen naar de traditionele tangogemeenschap. In de film reizen de beste Queer Tango-dansers van over de hele wereld naar Rusland voor het Festival. Na afloop moeten Misha en Otar beslissen of ze naar Israël emigreren. Recente voorvallen van homofobie in Rusland dwingen vele holebi's om hun families achter te laten en naar het buitenland te vluchten. Maar als naargeestig traditionalisme en xenofobie wijdverspreid zijn in de wereld, is het des te belangrijker om te blijven tangodansen, ongeacht je gender, seksuele geaardheid of land van herkomst.
