synopsis

The circus was the only entertainment on a journey of many months along the ancient Silk Road from Europe to China. In the dictatorship of Uzbekistan, the circus is as alive as it was in the days of Genghis Khan. The circus acts, too, have barely changed. Two artists are forced to choose between continuing the old traditions and politics, but their different choices seriously impact on their lifelong friendship.
Le cirque était le seul divertissement sur un voyage de plusieurs mois le long de l’ancienne route de la soie qui rejoignait l’Europe et la Chine. En Ouzbékistan, un état dictatorial, le cirque est aussi vivant qu’il l’était du temps de Genghis Khan. Les numéros de cirque ont également peu changé. Deux artistes de cirque sont forcés de choisir entre les traditions du cirque et la politique. Leurs choix différents affectent sérieusement l’amitié qui les unit depuis toujours.
