Black is a film about all the relevant connotations related to the word, both positive and negative. 'Black' is a tree with disciplines such as religion, psychology, politics and culture as branches; topics like Black Death, Black Sheep and Black Magic as leaves. Black explores the past, present and future of the word - the cause and effect - and why it has such overwhelmingly negative connotations around the world. It shows how the word is interpreted in a similar way in Asia, Europe, America and even Africa.
Zwart is een film over alle relevante connotaties met betrekking tot het woord, zowel de positieve als de negatieve. ‘Zwart’ is een boom met disciplines als religie, psychologie, politiek en cultuur als takken. Onderwerpen als Black Death, Black sheep en Black Magic als bladeren. Zwart wil het verleden, het heden en de toekomst van het woord verkennen - de oorzaak en gevolgen. Waarom het woord overweldigend zo'n negatieve connotatie heeft over de hele wereld. Het zal laten zien hoe het woord op een vergelijkbare manier wordt opgevat in Azië, Europa, Amerika en zelfs in Afrika.
