During his first 12 years in the Congo, Roland was considered white and European. Then he moved to Belgium, where he was regarded as black and African. For the first time ever in this documentary, Roland explores his mixed-race heritage and recognises that he has been trying to be a 'perfect Belgian' in order to conform. But in doing so, he lost sight of his African roots.
Il s’appelle Roland, son père est blanc et sa mère est noire. La question « qui suis-je ? » l’a plongé dans une crise identitaire qui a duré 20 ans.
