synopsis

A group of trainee wrestlers spurred on by the energy of Salvatore Bellomo (age 60) train relentlessly in the back room of a café in the Borinage district (a former mining region in Belgium). Tarzan, the Gigolo, Andynamite, Priscilla, La Rage, Eddie Dark... they all dream of becoming professional wrestlers, like their teacher. Salvatore fought with top wrestlers for more than 30 years, particularly within the prestigious WWF. Today, he has decided to bring his students to the U.S to follow the traces of his past. Waiting for the big day, they live out their passion together, sometimes taking foolish risks to satisfy the local audience and lay out their futures.
Un groupe d’apprentis catcheurs mus par l’énergie de Salvatore Bellomo (60 ans) s’entraine avec acharnement dans l’arrière salle d’un café du Borinage, ancienne région minière de Belgique. Le Gigolo, Tarzan, Andynamite, Priscilla, La Rage, Eddie Dark ... rêvent tous de devenir professionnels, comme leur professeur. Pendant plus de trente ans, Salvatore a catché avec les plus grands notamment au sein de la prestigieuse WWF.
Aujourd’hui, il a décidé d’emmener ses élèves aux Etats-Unis sur les traces de son passé. En attendant le grand jour, ils vivent ensemble leur passion prenant parfois des risques insensés pour satisfaire le public local et forcer l’avenir.
Een groepje leerling-catchers, gedreven door de energie van Salvatore Bellomo (60), traint met volle overgave in het achterzaaltje van een café in de Borinage, een oude mijnstreek in België. De Gigolo, Tarzan, Andynamite, Priscilla, De Dolle, Eddie Dark,... Allen dromen ze ervan professionals te worden, net zoals hun leraar. Meer dan dertig jaar lang heeft Salvatore tegen de grootsten gecatcht, voornamelijk in het kader van de prestigieuze WWF.
Vandaag heeft hij beslist om zijn beste leerlingen mee te nemen naar de Verenigde Staten in de sporen van zijn verleden. In afwachting van de grote dag beleven ze samen hun grote passie en nemen ze af en toe onbezonnen risico's om het lokale publiek te bekoren en de toekomst naar hun hand te zetten.
