synopsis

In a small Belgian town, word goes around that Mister Ping’s exotic birds are on the loose. Two bored teenagers go on a quest to find them. During their adventure, they find that escaping daily life isn’t quite the same as escaping each other. Easter Eggs is a short animated film about finding extraordinary things in ordinary places.
De eigenaar van het Chinese restaurant heeft zijn kooi met exotische vogels laten openstaan en daarna is hij zelf ook verdwenen. Jason (12) is vastberaden de papegaaien te zoeken om met het geld een mountainbike te kunnen kopen. Het liefst met de hulp van zijn beste vriend Kevin (15). In dit coming-of-age-verhaal wordt de jarenlange vriendschap van Kevin en Jason op de proef gesteld tijdens een absurde zoektocht. Kevin voelt beetje bij beetje zijn puberteit aankomen en hij weet niet hoe zich daartegen te verzetten.
