A coming-of-age drama about Nick, a foster child about to turn 18 who faces a life-changing decision. Will he give his mother another chance?

Nick, who is about to turn 18, grew up in a youth institution. Deep down, he wants to go back to his mother, Kim, whom he has messaged regularly over the past year, but always without a response. He has a good relationship with his supervisor Agnes who helps him find a studio with the state money he is entitled to receive. Then Kim messages that she would like to meet. An initially frigid encounter thaws while bowling. Nick makes a decision, an unpredictable one that will cause him to break down...
Nick groeit op in een jeugdinstelling. Volgende week wordt hij achttien. Diep vanbinnen wil hij graag terug naar zijn moeder. Hij heeft haar het voorbije jaar geregeld een bericht gestuurd, maar telkens zonder reactie. Met Agnes, zijn begeleidster, heeft hij een goede band. Ze vertelt hem over zijn kindergeld dat binnenkort vrijkomt en helpt hem bij het vinden van een studio. Zijn beste maat Amin zit ook in de instelling. Nick ontvangt een bericht van Kim, die graag wil afspreken. De koude ontmoeting ontdooit tijdens het bowlen. Hij heeft voor zichzelf beslist dat hij nu effectief terug naar zijn moeder wil en laat zijn studio links liggen. Een onberekende gok die hem zuur zal opbreken…
