In a crowded elevator, a man and a woman hesitate over which stop to take. He wants to lead her toward the bright light at the top. But she is drawn to nearer exits.

synopsis

Anon and Niem are in an overcrowded elevator that rises endlessly through a vast dark shaft. People develop a coloured light in their chests and are drawn toward corresponding exits. Anon longs for the bright white light high at the top of the shaft, while Niem is pulled toward nearby red exits. They struggle with pain, choices, and each other until Niem eventually throws up and expels her light. She leaves. Anon is left alone; the elevator barrels onward, passes through the clouds, and is destroyed at the top. There, a dizzying world of thousands of vertical shafts filled with moving people unfolds.
Anon et Niem se trouvent dans un ascenseur bondé qui monte sans fin à travers une sombre gaine. Les gens développent une lumière colorée dans leur poitrine et sont attirés vers des sorties correspondantes. Anon aspire à la lumière blanche éclatante au sommet de la gaine, tandis que Niem est attirée vers des sorties rouges proches. Ils luttent avec la douleur, les choix et l’un l’autre, jusqu’à ce que Niem finisse par vomir sa lumière et s’éloigner. Anon reste seul; l’ascenseur continue sa course, traverse les nuages et est détruit au sommet. Là, se déploie un monde vertigineux de milliers de conduits verticaux peuplés d’êtres en mouvement.
Anon en Niem zitten in een overvolle lift die eindeloos stijgt door een donkere schacht. Mensen ontwikkelen een gekleurd licht in hun borst en worden aangetrokken naar corresponderende exits. Anon verlangt naar het felwitte licht hoog bovenin de schacht, terwijl Niem naar nabijgelegen rode exits wordt getrokken. Ze worstelen met pijn, keuzes en elkaar, tot Niem uiteindelijk haar licht uitbraakt en vertrekt. Anon blijft alleen achter; de lift dendert verder, gaat door de wolken, en wordt aan de top vernietigd. Daar ontvouwt zich een duizelingwekkende wereld van duizenden verticale schachten vol pendelende mensen.
