synopsis

Two friends - urban explorers and filmmakers - travel around the world to scout mysterious abandoned buildings. Urban exploring is not only their passion, it's a way of living. On their travels, they encounter a wonderful world of decay, ugliness, desolation but also beauty. They will be on the road for thousands of kilometres, always on the move to secret locations and derelict buildings, with one goal ahead: to bring a mystical place back to life using stop-motion animation.
Deux amis, explorateurs urbains et réalisateurs de film, voyagent à travers le monde à la visite de lieux mystérieux et abandonnées. L’exploration urbain n’est pas seulement leur passion, c’est aussi leur raison de vivre. Tout au cours de leurs voyages, ils partent à la découverte de lieux extraordinaire de laideur, désolation et même de beauté. Ils seront en route pour des milliers de kilomètres, toujours à la recherche de nouvelles adresses secrets et de lieux abandonnés, avec pour but: faire revivre les lieux mythiques par le biais de l’animation stop-motion.
In Exitus reizen twee filmmakers - urban explorers - de wereld rond. Ze “exploren” verlaten gebouwen en plekken… Met hun passie voor film gaan ze dieper in op onderwerpen en achterliggende aspecten rond de verlaten gebouwen. Exitus laat op een sterke visuele manier de gebouwen en omgeving zelf getuigen van wat er zich ooit afspeelde. Op een eigenzinnige manier brengen ze nieuw leven in deze mysterieuze wereld… In Exitus vertellen ze zo op een vormelijke en stilistische manier, de verhalen achter deze gebouwen. We leiden de kijker binnen in een wereld waar je anders nooit iets over geweten zou hebben.
