An animated short film about Farmer Jack, a man trying to live up to the dream that he and his late father shared: a large farm with cows, chickens and sheep, all stretching as far as the eye can see.

synopsis

When agricultural prices plummet, farmer Jack is forced to call on the help of the pharmacists who provide him with pills that help his animals produce more. But the increase in production makes prices drop even further... spiralling towards an ending that we all know, but do not dare think about. Farmer Jack gets caught in the cycle of 'producing more for less' and sees his dream of a prosperous farm unit fall apart.
Jack le fermier essaie de réaliser le rêve qu’il partageait avec son père : créer une grande ferme dans laquelle des vaches, poulets et moutons s’étendraient à perte de vue. Son père lui a symboliquement légué son chapeau, espérant que Jack réaliserait leur rêve. Mais les prix chutent et Jack est contraint de demander de l’aide au pharmacien, qui lui procure des pilules rendant les animaux plus productifs. Mais la production croissante fait d’autant plus baisser les prix... cette spirale menant à la fin que nous connaissons tous, mais à laquelle nous n’osons pas penser. Jack le fermier se retrouve enfermé dans ce cercle vicieux du « produire plus pour gagner moins » et voit son rêve de construire une grande ferme tomber à l’eau. Cette histoire est racontée sur un ton étonnamment léger, presque comique, et met en scène un personnage animé en 2D.
