Two little sisters prepare for the Day of the Dead in the mystical mountains of Mexico, remembering their shaman grandmother. In this hybrid cinematic experience, their ancestors and the spirits of nature surround them, transporting us into their magical world.

synopsis

This hybrid virtual reality experience follows two young girls living in the mystical mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. Remembering their shaman grandmother, they explore the cosmogony of their ancestors as they prepare for the Day of the Dead. Floating with Spirits is a poetic experience that challenges the viewer's perception and makes the invisible in our world visible. With 360° documentary footage, volumetric capture of the spirits, and photogrammetry of their surroundings, we create an interactive, magical 6DoF experience. The aim is to share the indigenous knowledge of the Mazatec, because an authentic connection with nature is a necessity in the climate crisis.
