Brussels, the near future or distant past. The city has been reduced to rubble and ruins and what few survivors there are live in appalling conditions. An estranged medic, who lives by himself in an abandoned hospital, goes out to look for people in need of help. One day, after wandering through the deserted streets, the medic discovers a child hiding in the darkness of the hospital. The young girl is wounded and covered with blood.
