In How to Meet a Mermaid doorbreekt de zee haar stilzwijgen en openbaart zij de verhalen van Lex, Rebecca en Miguel. De drie hoofdpersonages hebben ieder hun eigen reden om het water als hun laatste toevluchtsoord zien. Kunnen zij de verleiding van de immense diepte weerstaan of zullen zij net als honderdduizend anderen meegevoerd worden naar de bodem van de oceaan?
