The Black Panther gallery in Antwerp dates back 50 years and is the oldest active art gallery in Belgium. This film tells the story of Adriaan Raemdonck, the man who started and still runs it.
Galerie De Zwarte Panter in Antwerpen bestaat 50 jaar en is de oudste actieve galerie in de Belgische kunstwereld. De film belicht het levenswerk en levensverhaal van Adriaan Raemdonck, de man die de galerie oprichtte en nog steeds belichaamt. Via zijn verhaal krijgen we een intieme inkijk in een halve eeuw beeldende kunst in Vlaanderen en ver daarbuiten. In gesprekken tussen Adriaan en bekenden van de galerie (Jan Decleir, Tom Barman, Jeroen Olyslaegers, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, Sofie Van de Velde, Fred Bervoets, Jan Vanriet, Frank Demaegd, ...) wordt ingegaan op de geschiedenis, het heden en de toekomst van de galerie, haar impact en haar plaats in de (kunst)wereld.
