A forest in a rural corner of Serbia takes the leading role in It Rains Differently. She, the forest, was planted between 1973 and 1988 by ORA, a state-run youth volunteer organisation. The film restages the activities from that period. The replanting is conceived both as a performance and as a film shoot: the people who sow will also be the ones filming.
In It Rains Differently speelt een woud in een landelijke uithoek van Servië de hoofdrol. Zij, het woud, werd van 1973 tot 1988 geplant door ORA, een door de staat gestuurde organisatie voor vrijwilligerswerk voor jongeren. De film herensceneert de activiteiten uit die periode. Het herplanten wordt opgezet als performance maar ook als ‘shoot’ van de film. De mensen die zaaien zullen namelijk ook filmen.
