A top curator, Jan Hoet was a passionate man with an unquenchable thirst for art, radical in his honesty and in his pursuit of total intellectual and emotional freedom. We follow his rise from insecure young man to become a lion of the art world, who could make or break artists. Along the way there are great successes, lots of praise and just as much criticism. Many friends, and many enemies...
De documentaire toont het bijzondere parcours van topcurator Jan Hoet, evenals de controversiële mens achter dit parcours. Een passioneel man met een onblusbare honger naar kunst, radicaal in zijn eerlijkheid en zijn geloof in de totale intellectuele en emotionele vrijheid. Hij haalde kunst uit het museum en bracht haar naar de mens, naar het leven van alledag. Rode draad doorheen de film is het favoriete schilderij van Jan Hoet, het 15e eeuwse Lam Gods.
