A harsh winter proves the breaking point for young farmer Johan.

Johan is 25 years old and lives alone on his farm, working from early morning to late at night caring for his herd. But as winter engulfs the land, Johan loses faith in the meaning of life and refuses to face up to his financial problems by clinging onto something that cannot be saved.
Johan a 25 ans et vit seul dans sa ferme. Il travaille de l’aube au coucher du soleil, prenant soin de son troupeau. Mais alors que le pays plonge dans l’hiver, Johan perd ce qui donne un sens à sa vie. Il refuse d’affronter les problèmes financiers de sa ferme. Plutôt que d’affronter la perte, il s'accroche à ce qui ne peut être retenu.
