Leaving Mandela Park is a documentary about children in the South African townships who have a special drive to escape, however briefly, the drabness of everyday reality. But their dreams do not stand on their own: they are a metaphor for the hopeful future of a country trying to drag itself up from a mire of poverty and violence.
Leavin Mandela Park est un documentaire sur les enfants des bidonvilles sud-africains qui essaient de s’échapper, bien que brièvement, de la dure réalité du quotidien. Leurs rêves ne dépendent pas que d’eux. Ils sont la métaphore du futur optimiste d’un pays qui essaie de se sortir d’un cercle de pauvreté et de violence.
