In the hospital room where Cyriel died, Leonie and a few relatives are standing around the bed on which his body lies. Next we are shown some episodes of their lives: how they grew older together, how they argued about the biscuits of which Cyriel kept eating too many of and how Leonie kept forgetting things. Eventually it becomes clear that a lot has happened between them over time. Leonie does not shed tears at Cyriel's death, but she is engrossed in a simple, pleasant memory that expresses Cyriel's unspoken love for her.
