A writer discovers an unknown side of himself on retreat in the South of France in the late 1970s.

After the success of his first novel, thirty-something Flemish writer Louis is suffering from writer’s block. Hoping that a new place will inspire him, he sets out for the Côte d’Azur. One day he sees a couple making love on the beach. They introduce themselves as Melanie and Tommy. It is Tommy, in particular, who arouses something in Louis. Unsure what to do with this desire, he decides to write down his lustful feelings, until he becomes completely obsessed with Tommy. The extreme plot twists in Louis’s story begin to bleed into reality.
Na het succes van zijn eerste roman lijdt de Vlaamse dertiger Louis aan een writer's block. In de hoop dat een nieuwe plek hem zal inspireren, vertrekt hij naar de Côte d'Azur. Op een dag ziet hij op het strand een koppel vrijen. Ze stellen zich voor als Melanie en Tommy. Vooral Tommy wekt iets op bij Louis. Omdat hij niet weet wat hij met dit verlangen moet doen, besluit hij zijn lustgevoelens op te schrijven, totdat hij volledig geobsedeerd raakt door Tommy. De extreme plotwendingen in Louis' verhaal beginnen door te dringen tot de realiteit.
