synopsis

Long Live the New Flesh is a found-footage horror film in which existing fragments from horror films are transmogrified into a new film. The film deploys a visual technique in which the images literally consume one another. The horror in all its visual power is brought to a natural boiling point and transcends into a new narrative and emotional dimension.
Long Live The New Flesh est un film d’horreur de found footage dans lequel des fragments de films d’horreur existants sont transformés en nouveau film. Le film déploie une technique visuelle dans laquelle les images se consomment littéralement les unes aux autres. L’horreur dans tout son pouvoir visuel est poussé jusqu’a sont point culminent et atteint une nouvelle dimension narrative et émotionnelle. Tous les ingrédients qui ont assuré aux films expérimentaux de Nicolas Provost leur succès international sont encore une fois présents dans ce film. Le film décortique les images d’un média de masse, les utilise pour construire une nouvelle histoire visuelle au-delà de la dissection et de l’horreur et permet au spectateur de traverser toutes les phases du spectre émotionnel.
Long Live The New Flesh is een 'found footage' horror film waarin bestaande fragmenten van horror films worden getransformeerd tot een nieuwe film. De beelden lijken elkaar letterlijk op te eten door Provosts aparte visuele techniek. De horror - in al haar visuele kracht - wordt tot een natuurlijk kookpunt gebracht en loopt over in een nieuwe narratieve en emotionele dimensie. Al de ingrediënten die Nicolas Provost zijn experimentele films tot internationale successen hebben gemaakt, zijn hier opnieuw aanwezig. De film ontmantelt het beeldgebruik van massamedia en gebruikt het om een nieuw visueel verhaal te construeren dat de kijker elk emotioneel spectrum laat doorkruisen.
