When Isabelle flees the orphanage, she is taken in by two romantic adventurers. But not everyone sees it quite the same way. They are snubbed at the engagement party of Louise, the daughter of a rich industrial. Louise, who is to be married off against her will, revolts against her narrow-minded family and friends. During the night she flees from the castle with the two men and Isabelle. When World War I breaks out, they decide to go back to the castle, but her father is still disgusted by his daughter's new way of life. So once more they have to flee, just to tumble in the horror of the war.
Lorsqu'Isabelle s'enfuit de l'orphelinat, elle est recueillie par deux aventuriers romantiques. Mais tout le monde ne le voit pas de cet ≈ìil-là. Ils sont repoussés lors de la fête de fiançailles de Louise, la fille d'un riche industriel.
