synopsis

When her mother is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, 17-year-old Olivia is forced to move in with her father, a well-known talk-show host, who left his family shortly after Olivia's birth. The only two people who can take Olivia's mind off things are her best friend and ‘flirting expert’ Billie, and Max, for whom she has a soft spot. But how do you know if someone wants you too? And when is it called love?
Wanneer haar moeder in een psychiatrisch ziekenhuis wordt opgenomen, moet Olivia (17) noodgedwongen bij haar vader intrekken, een bekende talkshowhost die zijn gezin kort na Olivia's geboorte heeft verlaten. De enige twee mensen die Olivia's gedachten kunnen verzetten, zijn haar beste vriend en 'flirtexpert' Billie, en Max, voor wie ze een zwak heeft. Maar hoe weet je of iemand jou ook wil? En wanneer is er sprake van 'liefde'? In de hoop antwoorden op die vragen te krijgen, begint Olivia een online onderzoek waarbij ze zogenaamde liefdestips verzamelt en uitprobeert. Maar dit resulteert vooral in een confrontatie met zichzelf.
