synopsis

One morning, dispirited twenty-something Oscar decides to take an overdose but is caught redhanded by his flatmate Lara. Oscar barricades himself in his room and as the medication takes over, he reflects on what has brought him to this low point in life - it becomes clear that old family wounds, unwise work choices and an unstable love affair have driven him over the edge. Meanwhile, as Lara desperately tries to break into his room by any means, Oscar comes to understand that the loss of his beloved taps into deeper insecurities and pains.
Op een ochtend besluit de ontmoedigde 20-jarige Oscar een overdosis te nemen, maar hij wordt door zijn huisgenoot Lara op heterdaad betrapt. Oscar sluit zichzelf op in zijn kamer en terwijl de medicatie het overneemt, denkt hij na over wat hem tot dit dieptepunt in het leven heeft gebracht. Het wordt duidelijk dat oude familiewonden, onverstandige werkkeuzes en een onstabiele liefdesrelatie hem over de rand hebben geduwd. Terwijl Lara wanhopig de kamerdeur probeert in te trappen, begrijpt Oscar dat het verlies van zijn geliefde diepere onzekerheden en pijn heeft blootgelegd. Uiteindelijk vindt hij dankzij de onvoorwaardelijke toewijding van Lara een hernieuwd gevoel van optimisme.
