synopsis

In a labyrinthine seaside town, random people spontaneously combust for no reason. Suicide? Murder? Supernatural phenomenon? To investigate this mystery, young journalist Louise, as ambitious as she is unstable, joins forces with Gabriel, a brilliant psychiatrist who carries the grief of his son’s death. Soon, six fiery letters start to appear on the city walls: 'Moloch'. Louise and Gabriel must embark on a terrifying journey to the heart of their own personal hell in order to get to the truth.
Dans une ville de bord de mer industrielle et labyrinthique, des inconnus s’enflamment brutalement, sans raison. Suicides ? Meurtres ? Phénomènes surnaturels ? Pour le découvrir, Louise, une jeune journaliste ambitieuse et instable, et Gabriel, un psychiatre qui porte un deuil douloureux, vont mener l’enquête. Bientôt, sur les murs de la cité, vont s’étaler six lettres de feu, « Moloch », comme une signature. Alors que la société semble s’embraser, Louise et Gabriel accomplissent un voyage au cœur de leur enfer personnel pour entrevoir la vérité…
Moloch is een phantasy-thriller. Tijdens Moloch wordt gebibberd. Moloch zindert, doet je kippenvel krijgen, is verslavend, maakt je obsessief… In de reeks komen thema’s aan bod die de kijker raken, angst en ongerustheid aanwakkeren en grenzen aftasten. Moloch is een thriller over een wereld in paniek, een gekwelde wereld die aangevallen wordt en een bezetenheid voor vuur ontwikkelt. De allegorie is duidelijk. Dit had net zo goed over onze ‘geterroriseerde’ wereld van nu kunnen gaan… De hoofdpersonages proberen te begrijpen wat de verborgen beweegredenen zijn achter de slachtoffers van vuur.
